With Gratitude and Appreciation: Recognizing Dr. Kenneth Blankstein’s Commitment to Our Patients

After more than 35 years of dedicated service to our community, Hunterdon Hematology Oncology announces the retirement of Dr. Kenneth Blankstein, effective January 2026.

For over three decades, Dr. Blankstein has been a trusted physician, mentor, and friend to countless patients and families throughout the region. His commitment to delivering thoughtful, evidence-based oncology care—paired with his steady compassion—has left a lasting mark not only on our practice, but on the lives of those he has served.

In late 2023, Dr. Blankstein thoughtfully transitioned to a part-time schedule, allowing him to continue caring for patients while preparing for this next chapter. As he shared in his letter to patients, this decision comes after a fulfilling career devoted to ensuring every individual received the highest quality cancer care close to home.

A Legacy of Clinical Excellence and Compassion

Throughout his tenure, Dr. Blankstein helped shape Hunterdon Hematology Oncology into the trusted community oncology practice it is today. His approach to care has always reflected our core mission: delivering the most effective, cutting-edge treatments while maintaining exceptional, personalized attention for every patient.

Colleagues describe him as steady, thoughtful, and deeply committed to clinical excellence. Patients describe him as kind, reassuring, and unwavering in their most difficult moments.

Over the years, oncology care has advanced significantly—from targeted therapies and immunotherapy to precision-driven treatment strategies. Dr. Blankstein remained at the forefront of these innovations while never losing sight of what matters most: the human connection between physician and patient.

Ensuring a Seamless Transition

Dr. Blankstein will continue seeing patients through December 2025. After that time, his partners at Hunterdon Hematology Oncology will continue each patient’s care with the same dedication, expertise, and compassion that define our practice.

Patients may request copies of their medical records at any time. As always, all original medical records will remain safely and securely maintained by Hunterdon Hematology Oncology.

Our entire team is committed to making this transition seamless. Continuity of care remains a top priority, and patients can feel confident knowing they will continue to receive advanced, personalized oncology care from our experienced physicians and clinical team.

A Heartfelt Thank You

Dr. Blankstein shared that many of his patients have become lifelong friends, and he will carry them in his thoughts and prayers. That sentiment is deeply mutual.

On behalf of our physicians, advanced practitioners, nurses, and staff, we extend our profound gratitude to Dr. Blankstein for 35 years of leadership, integrity, and compassionate service. His legacy will remain an enduring part of Hunterdon Hematology Oncology.

We wish him health, happiness, and fulfillment in this well-deserved retirement—and we thank our community for the continued trust you place in our team.
