Position: Registered Nurse

Hunterdon Hematology Oncology (HHO) is seeking full-time and part-time Registered Nurses interested in specializing and practicing in oncology. Our practice is in search of a highly organized, compassionate and dedicated professional to round out our cancer treatment team.

We are in search of an experienced registered nurse who will rise to our high standards of cancer care and compassionate treatment.

The ideal candidate for this role must be able to work in a collaborative environment, energetic, and invested in providing compassionate, personalized care. The Oncology Nurse is responsible for providing professional, safe, efficient, and high-quality nursing care to patients within their designated oncology department, serving as a crucial part of a patient’s cancer care team – often educating, coordinating, administering, and monitoring the treatment and services the patient receives. This ideal candidate utilizes an effective and appropriate communication style and works collaboratively with other healthcare disciplines to ensure the safe delivery of oncologic patient care. This team member participates in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care within their designated department. The Oncology Nurse assists with maintaining a safe work environment and demonstrates annual competence with clinical skills, clinical equipment, and electronic medical record system.


Role Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the care for designated oncology patients.
  • Recognizes the need for and initiates collaboration/communication with physician or other interdisciplinary team members and takes actions to proactively resolve patient needs.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • Uses effective and appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication styles with patients, families, visitors, staff, and other professional colleagues.
  • Serves as an advocate for patients.
  • Responsible for mixing and administering infusion medications.
  • Knowledgeable of managing oncology patients and drug side effect

Skills and Qualifications

  • BLS Certification (Preferred)
  • RN (Required)
  • Nursing experience: 1 year (Preferred)
