It’s been close to five years since my wife died from Esophageal Cancer. We had first pursued comprehensive treatment including surgery at Johns-Hopkins. The staff was attentive and bought us more than 18 months. When the cancer returned you could feel the difference – there was little empathy and concern. Dr. Rehman, who we had first consulted with at the start of the cancer, took Lloyd as his patient and gave us both fine medical care and ready availability and empathy. We eventually lost the battle, but Dr. Rehman and his assistant, Christine Ying, made our last months enjoyable and even a bit hopeful. I salute him on Physician’s Day.
