Purpose in Every Step: Marathon Weekend Unites Hunterdon to Support Local Cancer Patients
The 2025 Main Street Marathon of Hunterdon wrapped up with overwhelming success, marking another extraordinary chapter in our community’s ongoing commitment to hope, health, and healing. Held on October 18th and 19th in Clinton, NJ, this inspiring weekend event brought together runners, volunteers, families, and businesses from across the region—all united by one mission: to support the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center.
A Community United for a Cause
From the first steps taken during packet pickup at the Main Street Expo to the final strides across the finish line on race day, the energy was undeniable. Together, participants and supporters helped raise an incredible donation for the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center, reinforcing the power of collective action in the fight against cancer. These funds will help provide critical services, advanced treatments, and compassionate support to local patients and their families as they navigate their cancer journey.
Race Weekend Highlights
The weekend kicked off in true Hunterdon style on Saturday afternoon with a vibrant expo at the Hunterdon Healthcare’s Flemington Campus, everything was buzzing with music, local vendors, family-friendly fun, and pre-race excitement. From the adorable Superhero Sprint for kids to the local vendors, the atmosphere was electric with community spirit and seasonal charm.
On Sunday, under perfect fall skies, the main events began. Runners took on the Half Marathon and the 4 Miler, both showcasing some of the most beautiful rural scenery New Jersey has to offer. Whether racing competitively or running for fun, every participant crossed the finish line with a sense of accomplishment and pride. The support along the course—from volunteer hydration stations to cheering families lining the streets—was a testament to how deeply this event resonates within the community.

A Lasting Impact
The highlight of the weekend was the major donation to the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center, made possible by the generosity of participants, sponsors, and donors. This support directly strengthens the center’s mission to provide top-tier, personalized care close to home.
The funds raised during this event will enhance access to diagnostic tools, treatment options, patient navigation services, and wellness programs. It is a gift that will continue giving—touching the lives of countless patients and their families.
Thank You to Our Community
None of this would be possible without the dedication of our runners, volunteers, sponsors, and spectators. Your energy, time, and generosity helped turn a race into a rally for something bigger than all of us. To the local businesses, town officials, medical teams, and everyone who gave their hearts to this cause: thank you.
You’ve shown that when a community comes together with a shared purpose, the results can be truly life-changing.
Looking Ahead
The Main Street Marathon has become more than a race—it’s a movement. We’re already looking forward to 2026, and continuing to build on this legacy of compassion, connection, and community strength.
Until then, we celebrate every step taken this year and the difference it will make in the lives of those facing cancer in our region. Thank you, Hunterdon County. You ran with purpose—and it mattered.
